How to request a white-label app

In this article we go through what to have prepared when asking for a white-label app from Hococo.

Provide an Apple account

Due to the Apple App Store's policies, we can only publish your app if you have an Organisational Apple account and give us permission to publish an app on your behalf.

Please make sure to regularly monitor your Apple account and accept any pending agreements or renew your subscription in a timely manner. Missing out on those will result in Apple's team taking your white-label app down from the App Store.

Company name

We need to know what space or company name to provide in the description of the mobile app in the Apple and Google Play Stores. It is useful when your members search for the app in the store so they can easily find the app.

App name

You need to choose a name for the app. This would be the name of the application in Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

Important: Apple requires that the App Name in the Apple App Store is unique, meaning that there can't be more than 1 app with this name. That's why you have to provide us with 3 suggestions for an app name. If we fail to submit the app with any of the three, we will send you an email, so you can provide us with another one. Please note the name cannot start with a number.

Display name

The Display Name is the app's name when installed on a mobile device. The Display Name does not have to be unique and can differ from the App Name in the stores. This means that even if we fail to submit your app with the 1st suggestion, you can still keep the same as a Display Name. When submitting the form, you can choose what option you'd prefer.

Splash screen

The Splash Screen is the image displayed when the app is loading when opened on a device.

The app stores require that the image meets the following conditions:

  • In a .PNG or .JPEG format.

Logo

The Logo is the logo of your company which we display on the login screen.

The image you provide for a logo should meet the following conditions:

  • Has a size of 1024px width by 768px height.
  • In a .SVG format.

Icon

The Icon is the image representing the application in the mobile app stores and when installed on a device.

The image you provide for an icon should meet the following conditions:

  • In a .SVG format

Note: You will notice that the mobile app icons are usually rounded. That doesn't mean that you need to send us a rounded image. On the contrary, the application stores round the image provided as an icon, as long a it meets the conditions described above.

HEX codes

A HEX code, short for "hexadecimal code," is a way of representing colours.

Submit the resources

Navigate to the Submission Form and submit your request for a white-label app. Typically, the release of your app will take between 3-4 weeks from the form's submission unless the review process from the App Store or the Google Play Store takes longer than usual. Apple and Google do not provide an exact time frame for their app reviews, but they offer the following estimates:

  • Apple - "On average, 50% of apps are reviewed within 24 hours and 90% are reviewed within 48 hours. Some apps, however, may require additional time to review, and there may be times during the year where we experience higher-than-average submission volume and therefore have delayed review times."
  • Google - "App review times may fluctuate, and may take 7 days or longer in exceptional cases."
